Catawba, Part 2

Saturday I awoke to the aroma of fresh ground coffee. At the Tower, Pete was up early, brewing his own special blend of roasted beans--the Bozo Blend--as it is called, taking its name from Pete's old college moniker. By 7 A.M., guests were sipping coffee and reminiscing about the night before; playing games and sharing laughs around the fire pit.

Breakfast was a buffet. There was fresh fruit, blended yogurt, and granola. The frittatas were delectable. Breakfast meats were piled high, also potatoes, and there was a platter of fresh Catawba donuts that Pete went out early to procure. Julie had prepared special gluten-free options for one guest. Everyone had more than enough to eat. We finished our meals with more coffee and a few readings from "Shine": a book of inspirational quotes that made me feel humbled and grateful to be in that place, at that time, with such good people. I couldn't ask for a better start to the day.
